Summer Book Study!

Learn how to implement small group math instruction in this 5 week book study, hosted by Marcy, the author of Small Groups Big Impact!

Every strategy comes from my actual classroom — with real kids and real roadblocks.

We will chat about and discuss exactly how to structure your math block, use data to guide your groups, and teach with purpose instead of spinning your wheels.

I recommend using your personal email address. School spam filters can block registration and information emails.

A 5 Week Book Study for Elementary Teachers

Every Tuesday | June 16-July 14 | 9am PT • 11am CT • 12pm ET

Meet the Author

Hey y'all, I'm Marcy!

I'm a classroom teacher, turned math intervention specialist. With 14 years of educational experience, I've discovered that successful small group math instruction isn't about collecting more activities or trying every new teaching trend...it's about implementing a proven, systematic approach that works.

A systematic approach to small group math instruction will:

  • Boost Student Confidence & Achievement

  • Transform Your Daily Math Block

  • Simplify Your Lesson Planning

  • Bring Joy Back to Teaching Math

But more importantly? I'm still in the classroom doing this work every single day. Everything in this book comes from my actual experience, not theory.

This approach changed my math teaching from overwhelming and scattered to confident and purposeful.

Instead of feeling stretched thin trying to meet everyone's needs, I now have a clear action plan for reaching every student at their level.

I've helped thousands of teachers worldwide

transform their math instruction with my curriculum, resources, and professional development. Now, I'm sharing my tried-and-true system for small group success.

You Might Be Wondering...

Who is this book study for?

This book study is for you if you teach elementary math for grades 1st-4th. The examples shown throughout the book are in a 2nd grade classroom, however the strategies can be modified to work with any grade level.

How will the book study work?

Each week, we will cover 2 chapters together.

Book study participants will be invited to join an exclusive community. This space will allow you to share your thoughts and key takeaways from each chapter.

Prior to each week's book chat, you'll be able to submit questions you'd like to discuss about the chapters we are reading.

On Tuesday, Marcy will host a virtual book chat via Zoom to discuss the chapters for the week and answer any questions you might have along the way.

If you miss a week, no worries. Replays will be available for you to watch.

How will I watch each weeks discussion?

All of our book chats will be hosted via Zoom. You can join from virtually anywhere!

How long will each discussion last?

Each week's discussion will last approximately 60-75 minutes.

What if I can't attend live?

That’s ok! It's summer and things happen. Each week, our book chats will be recorded and shared with you to watch at your convenience.

Is there a cost to participate?

No! The book study is completely free. However, you will need your own copy of Small Groups, Big Impact. You can grab your copy on Amazon.

Will I earn professional development credit?

Yes! Upon completion of the book study, you'll be issued a PD certificate for 10 hours.

Please check your district policies to ensure these credits will be counted toward recertification requirements. Because each district's requirements differ, I cannot guarantee credit, and I don't claim this book study is accredited by any institution.

What if I've never done small groups?

That’s ok! The whole purpose of this book study is to help get your small groups off the ground. I walk you through everything step by step.
